Cheating v/s honesty

The dictionary says that cheating means to practice fraud or deceit. We are cheating when we say that we did a homework and we really copied someone else’s work, which is very common in everywhere. There are known cases of scientist or important investigators who have been dismissed from their employments because they have cheated copying parts of a investigation or they have stolen complete reports. Also in schools, teachers have been discovered cheating. And we like future teachers must to learn why we ought not to do it.

Even if then we get more importance or earn more money after we do it, cheating is not only unfair but also is try to lie to ourselves and that is not possible. Maybe cheating we can advance faster than doing the work by ourselves but that doesn’t assure anything.

It is true that if we cheating we can seem more intelligent, smart, powerful and successful, but that is just for a little time because the next time we will need do something more difficult, will not be able to do it and we will cheating again until it will no possible to continue and at the end we will be discovered and we will receive the punishment.

Till now I have asked to three friends why do not cheat and their answers are similar and expected, but I would like to tell them anyway.

The first one told me that cheating is not fair for classmates and for us and he would feel bad and guilty if he would do it. And I am completely sure that he never has done it and he never, ever will do it.

The second one told me that honesty is one of the most important things that families try to teach us since we are kids and cheating is to forget the family and everything that it has given us.

The last one told me that she doesn’t like cheating because she wanted marks of her own effort, thus to know how is she doing; besides if she would cheat she wouldn’t learn anything and the she wouldn’t be a good professional.

Those are examples of why do not cheat, mainly are ethics reason and it is true that everyone know what does and have to choose what to do. But always honesty will be better even if someone is not discovered, because that doesn’t mean that he or she is better than someone else, but means that the person who is cheating is too lazy to do a work by herself or himself, or maybe that he or she is not able to do a work. I choose honesty!!!
