Bicentenary

Though it's true that this year we are celebrating " the Bicentenary". We weren't independent two-hundred years ago. But right there we started a process to be free. In 1810 the king Fernando VII was Napoleon's prisoner. Because of this some people decided to meet and talk about the future of the colony without the king. That is what we know as opened chapter where the politic started to be public for the natives. In that date also the people chose their representatives for the country. This meeting was, in the beginning, just for look after the country while the king was prisoner, but then the people realized they could be independent from Spain.

Being strict with the history we can say "this year is not the bicentenary and everything is wrong" because it is not this year. We have not two-hundred years of independent life, but as I saw once in a Simpson's chapter: is better if the people things that and do good things for the others even if it's a lie. Just look at them and see their happiness. Why stop them? Why break in what they believe?

So, this year the celebration will be great and bigger than the last years. Everyone wants to do something special: schools, colleges, TV, stores, the government are some of them. The "Ramada" will catch the attention, BBQs, and cueca promise to do these holydays perfect with the family.

we are already on Septembre but the people is not preparing the things to celebrate because like a good Chilean, we do everything at the last moment but we don't like stores be full of people buying and we always say: the next year I will prepare all early. And that's a lie. But one thing it's true: this year shops will be really full of people.

Since the beginning of this year we could hear thing about the bicentenary: not even Condorito is out of this celebration. As every day he is informed about the main things and the bicentenary it's one of them, of course, he can't be out of this, because he is an important Chilean person.
I don't know if in some years more somebody will say something like: "now is the real bicentenary of independency" and the people will want to celebrate again, but now just let's enjoy. Nice bicentenary for you!
